J.C. Chandor directed the film, with a screenplay written by Art Marcum, Matt Holloway, and Richard Wenk12. Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as Sergei Kravinoff / Kraven the Hunter, with Ariana DeBose (Calypso), Fred Hechinger (Dmitri Smerdyakov), Russell Crowe, and Christopher Abbott (The Foreigner) among the other cast members1.

The series was created for AMC by Eli Jorné, based on The Walking Dead characters. It is the fourth spin-off series and overall the fifth series of The Walking Dead franchise. Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan are reprising their roles from the original TV series. Other actors such as Gaius Charles, Željko Ivanek, and Mahina Napoleon are also part of the series. The show will consist of six episodes and will premiere on June 18, 2023.
