Jeremy Allen White, born on February 17, 1991 in Brooklyn, is an American actor. He is best known for his role as Phillip “Lip” Gallagher on the Showtime comedy-drama series Shameless. He has also appeared in series and films such as Homecoming, Afterschool, Twelve and The Rental.

White is the child of a family whose both parents are professional actors. He was interested in dance and received ballet, jazz and tap dance training. He started acting at the age of 13 and played his first film in Beautiful Ohio. He then appeared as a guest actor in series such as Conviction, Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.

In 2011, White was cast as the lead actor in the series Shameless. He dated his co-star Emma Greenwell for four years. In 2019, he married actress Addison Timlin and had two children. White is currently playing the character of Carmen ‘Carmy’ Berzatto in the series The Bear.
